Hiya, well today I have a card made from a CD Rom, the cute licensed characters of Humprey’s Corner. This particular card is a ‘Engagement’ card but the image is actually quite versatile and could be used for many different occasions inc Birthday, Mothers Day or Just Because.
I have always advocated that CD Crafting is a great resource and have never understood the reluctance you often come across. Like anything it really depends on how you use this tool as to whether it really works. I personally like to use them as a way to produce my own papers, toppers etc. But this time I decided to try something different and make use of some of the features that are available. So I printed out one of the pre-made cards that are designed that when printed that it looks as if you have matted and layered a few different layers and sections.
I have to say I added a couple of bits that really were matted on top and you would be hard pushed to tell which is which. I also printed out an insert and added for real some elements to that.
Finally I printed out a little sentiment to add to the front, actually it was on the same sheet as the little elements that I used for the inside too.
So all in all I think I printed a maximum of 3 sheets to make this card, and still had pieces left over to use. So I hope that I am gradually showing you the benefits of CD crafting, if you were not convinced already, and although I don’t use CDs all the time they are a great resource. My personal favourite reason to use them is for printing out my own pattern paper. Anyway thanks for popping by and I hope you liked the card, hugs and have a great craft day,
So sweet! I have quite a few CD-ROM’s for card making and I don’t use them enough. They have some fabulous images and really nice background papers. I think it’s a great resource for when you need a quick card and you’ve temporarily lost your mojo. Really helps build your confidence and get you back in the groove:)
I love using them for papers, cos I never seem to have the right pattern so this resource just helps so much for that, And i love Nitwits for pattern paper too 🙂
